Durham

A Charming Town Nestled at the Foot of The Catskills

The Town of Durham has 2,700 residents in its scenic 50 square miles of rolling foothills, with a small portion of the town located in the Catskill Park near Mount Pisgah. The countryside and its network of tributary streams flow gently northeast from the ridge line of the northern Catskill Mountains to the Catskill Creek which bisects the Durham Valley as it flows southeast to the Hudson River.

From the village of Catskill, the four hamlets of Durham are accessible via State Highways 23, 145, and 81, the main routes on the way to Cobleskill and Cooperstown. We are 45 minutes from Albany and 2 ½ hours from NYC.

Festivities

Every Memorial Day weekend East Durham holds the Irish Festival at the fair grounds with music that the whole family can enjoy.  In mid-July you can enjoy music at The Irish Arts Festival for a week long celebration of Irish culture and the Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival in Oak Hill with a variety of acoustic music.
