Named in honor of a mostly forgotten Turnpike, which served as a trade route through Greene County to the Hudson River in the days prior to the Erie Canal opening. Our soap is a healthy, all natural alternative to regular store bought soaps, many of which contain harsh chemicals that do more harm than good to your skin. Our soaps do not contain any parabens, sodium laurel sulfates, or petroleum based products. Our soaps are made from a base of vegetable shortening, olive oil, and coconut oil. We use real essential oils, real botanicals, and mineral oxides. Each batch is made by hand in a small workshop along the Susquehanna Turnpike. The soap is poured into old fashioned wooden molds, made by hand on site. After saponification (the chemical name for turning oils and lye into soap) they are cut, left to cure on racks for six weeks, then packaged and are ready for sale.
